February 27th

Mindfulness Day was on Monday, hopefully you saw the brochure your child brought home.  Many students bought friendship bracelets to help raise money for a school in Africa .  Michael Bortolotto was our special guest speaker.  We all really enjoyed his life story so much so that we wrote him a letter telling him how much he inspired us!

***We had a Jump Rope for  Heart presentation at the assembly on Tuesday.  Booklets and envelopes were sent home.
 ***We finished up and shared our Star Constellations that we created.  We also finished our special 100 projects.  We read the book One Hundred Dresses which all the students (boys and girls) rated the book as a 10! Have your child tell you tell you about this story.
These are some pictures from our Space Explorations, below is a International Space Centre with the Canadian Arm!  Another group used the Space play dough to promote Anti-bullying!

We also finished up our Olympic Stations in gym.  The students really seemed to enjoy these, speed and figure skating, hockey and sledge hockey, curling, biathlon, skeleton and bobsled.

UPCOMING EVENTS:
Students should their completed  (coloured  and initialed) Canadian Flags if they have read each day during the month of February.  These should be returned Monday or Tuesday at the latest.  Wednesday March 5 is our Club RED celebration.  Please encourage your child to wear red that day. (Last dress up or special day for a while - I agree we have had lots going on for the whole month of February!)
Jump Rope for Heart - Monday, March 10th  We ask that students wear appropriate footwear and comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle to school that day.  All fundraising envelopes will be due by Wednesday, March 12th in hopes that we can submit the donations before Spring Break.
